IMTS 2014 had the largest 6 day attendance in the show’s 60 year history with more than 114,000 registrants, nearly 1.3 million square feet of exhibit space and over 2000 exhibitors.
The Fives booth in the North hall was striking and visible from the main entrance. Four different specialisms and 11 brands participated in the Fives booth.
New products including the Landis LTT grinder and the Giddings & Lewis Y-axis attachment for vertical turning centers, garnered a lot of attention from visitors. Models of the new eADU, enhanced Automated Drill Unit and the MGP extrusion machining center along with customer parts from Fives Cincinnati and Fives Liné Machines highlighted the booth’s Aerospace section. CITCO tooling and Gardner grinding wheels were featured in the center of the booth. Numerous videos were used throughout, including the Automation area, to tell the Fives story. Synergy between specialisms was evident as sales and marketing personnel were able to cross sell products from other groups.
A VIP reception the second evening of the show allowed Fives management to entertain key customers and show off the latest technology.
Promotions such as advertisements and email blasts fueled interest preshow. Discussions held with several important metal working magazine editors during IMTS are resulting in continued publicity and product interest.
