Fives selected by SNCF, for the supply of two machines for milling rail tracks and switches
Through its Metal Cutting | Composites business line, Fives has been awarded this major contract for the supply of two milling machines for the French National Railway Company (SNCF), for Chamiers and Chambly facilities.
The Fives Group has a portfolio of machines known as reliable, robust and accurate, and specifically designed for railway industry machining: rails, switch points, crossings and frogs.
The first machine will be configured with two longitudinal rails clamping areas and two vertical spindles. The second machine will be configured with one longitudinal rails clamping area and one vertical spindle.
Fives was selected for its understanding in SCNF technical constraints, and defining the appropriate machines configurations and processes. Both machines will be manufactured in Fives Machining Forest-Liné Albert facility in France.
