Fives signed an agreement with AVIC Hongdu Aviation to supply an additional universal holding fixture in China
The Liné Machines Flexitool will hold various composite skins and panels for trim and drill operations on parts to be assembled for the Chinese C919 program, the new medium range commercial airplane.
Partial installation under a Forest-Liné V-STAR2 is planned in May 2017 in France at the Fives Machining – Forest-Liné Capdenac facility . Final delivery will be in the 3rd quarter of 2017.
With its over 700 locating pockets and its 350 fully electric driven actuators, this new Liné Machines Flexitool will be the biggest universal holding fixture installed in China.
Hongdu Aviation, a major manufacturing sub-contractor for the C919 program in China, continues their trust in Fives solutions after having previously invested in several multi spindles profilers, high speed machines for aluminium airframe structures, trim and drill machines for composite from our Forest-Liné and Cincinnati product lines.
